Hindu Marriage Act, 1955—Sections 5(i) and 25—Bigamy—Grant of permanent alimony to second wife—A bigamous marriage may be declared illegal being in contravention of provisions of Act, but cannot said to be immoral to deny right of alimony or maintenance to a spouse financially weak and economically dependant.
